Food avoidance tips to help you prevent the next migraine

As a migraine patient, you know the pain, you know the migraine, I am sure you will try anything to prevent the pain from happening again - right?

Taking steps to change what we eat, controlling our level of anxiety and the environment is the first step in helping to prevent the frequency of migraine.

Migraine prevention is a full-time job that requires conscious effort to protect yourself from repeated migraine headaches. Migraines are a formidable enemy. They seem to be attacking whatever you do, but they should not discourage you. Some people may not be able to stop them completely, but of course you can take steps to reduce their frequency and severity.

Remember that good-natured family and friends don't always understand what you are experiencing when you experience a migraine, so you need to be in charge of you. You need to pay attention to the food causes of migraine and try to avoid them.

Look at the food you eat

These foods are the enemy of migraine patients to print this list and post in your kitchen as a constant reminder.

1 - Foods high in tyramine from

[Amino acid] is the cause of migraine. Tyramine is naturally found in many foods, forming food ages or fermenting. It does not adversely affect everyone, but because it causes a lot of blood, because it causes the brain to expand, causing migraine.

These are the tyramine foods to avoid:

• Aged cheese - cheddar cheese, Swiss cheese, blueberry cheese, cheese cheese, up to cheese, Gruy cheese, parmesan, etc. [safe cheese including American cheese, cream cheese and ricotta]

• Marinated, processed or smoked meat - hot dogs, sausages, salami, pepperoni, bacon, ham, luncheon meat, oysters, marinated herring and smoked fish.

• Other pickled or processed foods - sauerkraut, kimchi, green olives, capers and occasionally dried tomatoes

• Broad beans - broad beans, soy beans, peas, tofu, pickled beans, etc. [this includes products made from beans such as humus, bean paste, soy sauce and miso]

• Yeast

• Beer, beer, wine [especially red wine]

• Bananas, oranges and any overripe fruits

• Eggs, spinach and tomatoes

• Coffee and possibly all caffeine products. [Interestingly, some people find that small doses of caffeine are beneficial, but be careful when reducing caffeine intake to avoid backlash or rebound headaches]

2 - Nitrate packaging is effective. from

 Nitrate, a component of food preservatives and drugs, is a common cause of migraine.

These are nitrate foods to avoid:

• Processed meat - hot dog, sausage, salami, pepperoni, bacon, ham and luncheon meat again

• Beets, spinach, celery, broccoli and broccoli

3 - Other foods to avoid -

• Nuts and Nuts Products

• Additives such as MSG

• Salt and high sodium foods - potato chips, popcorn, salted peanuts

• Chocolate

I recommend recording the diary of the food you eat when the migraine occurs, so you can determine your real food incentives. All items in this list are known migraine triggers, but everyone reacts differently.

Personally, I found that crabs brought me an immediate migraine, but found that no one else experienced the same situation, even my doctor was surprised. So find your trigger and the good luck of preventing migraine!
