ABC's leadership - the problem is the problem

Although most business leaders have years of experience and confidence in their knowledge and abilities, knowing that they don't always get the right answers is a key skill that all great leaders must develop. Not only do they need to ask the right questions to employees, suppliers, customers and partners, but they also need to constantly question how to improve their performance and ways of doing things. They also absolutely need to publicly listen to and use the advice of others.

The method of asking questions by the leader should inspire his or her employees to think deeply, creativity and curiosity. Rather than telling his or her employees what to do and providing guidance when needed, the most important thing a leader needs to do is ask questions and talk to them. This will enable more junior leaders to come up with their own ideas on how to better improve and improve the project. This, in turn, will help these junior leaders learn more and have more of their projects, thereby increasing their confidence in their abilities. How to complete the project more effectively after the project is completed is also a good thing. Many times, team members no longer spend time providing constructive feedback, but rather about how to improve when the next project emerges.

For great leaders, it is also important for their organization to ask questions about the entire system. These leaders need to constantly look for ways in which organizations can operate more effectively. Are all the correct processes in place? Can I improve any process and how can I implement these improvements? How does the organization retain outstanding performers and continue to challenge them to keep them motivated? How does the organization compete with other companies? Knowing how to present these issues in a constructive and non-threatening manner is a key skill for great leaders.

Consider the following because it is relevant to you and your employees... Are you asking the right questions that will stimulate deeper thinking, creativity and curiosity? Even if your organization works well, will you question it? When was the last time you asked for feedback? Did you really listen to the feedback and include any suggestions made?

Think about other "Q" words - quality and quantity.
