Microdermabrasion and Micropeel from
It is the two most common anti-aging skin care methods currently in use. However, there are a large number of microdermabrasion skin grinders available, and only a few can produce effective peeling and visible results.
More importantly, the machines used in doctor's offices are more powerful and effective than machines sold to spas or salons. The estheticians who perform microdermabrasion and Micropeel vary greatly in their skills and understanding of these techniques. Medical beauticians working in doctor's offices are specially trained and experienced. The fact that they work under the supervision of a doctor allows for more effective treatment.
Your results depend largely on how your skin is done and how well the medical aesthetics and her machines are. Below I will discuss how Microdermabrasion and Micropeel work, what they can achieve for you, the best machines, and how to judge whether you have received good treatment.
How does Microdermabrasion work?
Microdermabrasion is a deep exfoliation technique that removes dead and damaged skin cells from the skin of the face, neck and shoulders. After treatment, fresh skin cells are revealed and the skin looks smoother. Light skin pigmentation or brown spots are alleviated.
Studies have shown that after repeated treatment, fine wrinkles are improved, new collagen is formed in the defect skin layer called the dermis, and the sun spots disappear or are significantly alleviated. Significant facial rejuvenation and anti-aging skin care benefits:
advantage
o deep exfoliation
o remove sun damage
o New collagen growth in the dermis
o Fine wrinkle removal
o Better penetration of retinal A and other topical agents
technology
The technology uses a small glass tube with a hole on the side. A constant suction is passed through the tube by the machine, and small sand such as silica particles is passed through the glass tube by the machine.
As the tube passes through your skin, suction pulls your skin into a stream of turbulent silica particles that move or remove dead, damaged, and stained dead skin cells. This is exfoliating.
The best microdermabrasion machine is in the doctor's office
Companies that manufacture these machines are only allowed to sell de-powered units to salons and spas. These weaker machines are invalid. If you want to see effective results, you need to be treated at the doctor's office by an experienced medical cosmetologist.
We use the Megapeel machine. Dermagenesis is another good brand. Many machines do not have enough power to provide enough suction to wear the skin.
There are many new chemical machines that do not use silica particles, but my patients prefer the standard raw method of pumping and silica particles.
If you have a good treatment, how to judge
o Your skin will turn pink or red
o your skin will feel smooth
o Your skin will have a slight irritation
o Your skin may fall off after a day or so
Micropeel
Micropeel is a dermatological combination [scrape the dead skin and damaged skin cells on the face with a scalpel] and then apply a diluted AHA [glycolic acid] solution to the skin. This is often referred to as "lunch time peeling" because Micropeel[TM] can be done and you can usually resume work immediately after peeling.
Micropeel provides mechanical [skin rubbing] and chemical peeling. Although this sounds more complicated, Micropeel is a milder peel. We use Micropeel:
o dry skin
o sensitive skin
o rosacea patients
Salicylic acid, which is stronger than diluted glycolic acid, can be used in deeper peels. When salicylic acid is used, this technique is called Micropeel PlusTM.
How long will the treatment take?
These treatments take approximately 30 minutes.
What is the cost of these treatments?
Experienced medical beauticians are effectively treated at the doctor's office, using better machines and appropriate techniques. They are more expensive than salons or spas.
In Boston, I practice the following are typical costs:
Micropeel - $70.00
Microdermabrasion - $125.00
Where should I complete the treatment?
The benefits of these treatments by a medical cosmetologist at the doctor's office are:
o Medical supervision
o Stronger, more effective treatments
o Visit prescription topical drugs
o If you have a problem, please take appropriate security management
These are my favorite non-surgical non-facial facial rejuvenation programs. These deep exfoliation techniques combined with topical Retin A and Vitamin C serum are the basis of anti-aging skin care for all of my patients.
These technologies work, they are safe, effective and easy to experience. What is a better way to start an anti-aging skin care process? It will never be too early to start now.
