Simple scrapbooking layout: three methods

One of the most difficult things when you start scrapbooking is your page layout or design. You can sit for a few hours and move photos from one location to another, not sure that it looks right. Once you start playing with the decorations, the adjustments can be made without restrictions! After all, how can you really judge whether the button is better at the top, middle or under the title?

There are some basic, simple scrapbook layouts that can help you to hesitate and move directly to something interesting: create and decorate your page! Here are my three pages of design over and over again:

grid. from

Imagine having a tic-tac-toe board on your layout. Place similar-sized photos, diary blocks, or pattern blocks in each square of the grid. Make sure that there is a common margin around each square, which means it is the same distance from the other squares. Hey! You are ready to add bling and buttons.

2. Line. from

Create a series of photos or page elements on the page. Different elements don't need to have the same size, but it helps if they are related in some way [sharing a common color, a common shape, or a similar pattern]. Use the spaces above and below the "Queue" to mark the title and journal.

3. Focus. from

This design is a great choice for an oversized photo. Place it at the center of the page, or slightly off center. Then add a diary block in the lower left or lower right corner, above the title and some decorations, and call it good!

Creating a scrapbook page looks daunting because there are many options. But by sticking to these simple scrapbook layouts, you'll have the basics and you can continue to record your memories.
