What kind of people train horse racing? What attributes does a person need in order to be able to adjust the horse and manage the stables? On the one hand, good business sense must be essential because training horse racing is a business. Trainers must be able to manage funds and resources effectively. This is not to say that all trainers are good businessmen, but the most successful trainers may be good enough to manage their business to maintain operations.
While business acumen and money management are important, I think some of the best trainers are also sneaky. They are people who may not have the best stock, but they are always able to make a living. When I say this, I have not criticized because I admire anyone who can make a living from the horse. This is not simple. On the one hand, horses can't talk, telling you how they feel, what they need, or what they want. The trainer needs to be able to read the horse.
