Volleyball System and Strategy: Book Review

Volleyball system and strategy from

It is a book by American volleyball based on its Coach Certification Program [CAP]. This is a very comprehensive volleyball with volleyball superior to individual skills, and sometimes how the team works as a whole. To this end, I think it is likely to be very useful for novice and developing coaches, and anyone is thinking about how to maximize the team's performance based on the type of player they have.

The book has six main parts:

  1. Service, transition and service reception from

View available service types [floating, jump upspin, etc.] and team service receiving mode.
  2. Defensive system from

Describes the ways in which teams can be built in terms of defensive positioning and blocking.
  3. Defensive strategy from

Depending on the strengths and weaknesses of the team and/or the opponent, the above system can be considered in different ways.
  4. Offensive system from

Highlight different ways in which compensation can be configured, such as 5-1 or 6-2.
  5. Offensive strategy from

Discusses different ways to use an offensive system to give your team's attackers an edge.
  6. System, strategy and team from

Focus on developing a good training program and handling the team during and after the game.

Each part of the book is divided into chapters that focus on one aspect of a larger topic. These chapters usually contain the following elements:

  • Initial description of the system or policy
  • Personnel requirements
  • Advantages and disadvantages
  • Implementation option
  • Coach point

The final chapter of each section [except the last chapter] lists some exercises designed to study the systems or strategies involved. Listed up to 20 exercises. This should provide enough help for the reader coach to help integrate the system into the games of their team.

The book's companion DVD covers the main topics listed above, excluding #6. It also shows some exercises. Its length is about an hour.

There are a lot of materials inside from

from

But it is very simple and clear. I think it's safe to say that if readers can go all out, they can find the right system and strategy for any team they guide, regardless of the level of competition. That's why I gave it a good suggestion.
