Predation of predators from elevated forests can be a big advantage, especially in late summer and early fall, when the grass is high, the crops rise, and the leaves are still in the trees. Typically, this extended view will be successfully captured.
If you are lucky, your state hunting law will allow you to hunt predators from the upgraded platform. Fortunately, the state I live in, Michigan, has passed a law prohibiting predators from advancing forests during the day.
Just like the deer hunting from the tree, it really has its advantages. You can use the same tree stand as the tree stand used for deer hunting, but usually they are not suitable for setup.
