Froggin, Mississippi

"The taste like a chicken," said Lance Zender, a local outdoor athlete from the Choctaw Bayou area. Lance is the very southern species - he is a frog.

According to the ASA, more than 30 species of frogs and toads live in Magnolia. They range from the smallest oak tree in North America to the huge American bullfrog, which is the largest 8 inches or more. Between them are a large number of chorus frogs, narrow scorpions, pig frogs, howling frogs, leopard frogs, gray and white Fowler. The most popular frog hunters are olive-to-brown pig frogs, up to 6 inches in length, with green and brown spots on the southern leopard, and of course American bullfrogs. To say the least, the state has a very diverse and rich frog population.

The Mississippi Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks Department [MDWFP] divides quail eggs into small prey and rabbits, squirrels, raccoons, possums...
