Scrapbooks have become a very popular hobby in the United States and are becoming more popular around the world. Although this is a craft and a hobby, the materials and tools used by the scraper can become quite expensive. I want to give you some tips on how to save money.
· Trade supplies you already have and other scrapers you know. You never know what you will find and what you can use.
• Use card stock and paper scraps for smaller items or for stamping labels or other shapes. Use them for extinction, diary, photo corners or color blocking. You may be surprised at how to use the smallest pieces of the layout.
· Do you know those 3D pop points? Don't just use the actual points and throw away the rest. Cut the frame and use it. If you use letters, numbers or shapes, use the remaining perforated paper as a template.
· In addition to tools like bone folders, you can also use the back of a kitchen knife or ruler. For quilling, you can also use a toothpick instead of the quilling tool.
Check your house and look in the drawer to see if you can't find the items you want to use, such as pop hats, caps, paper clips, pieces of material, wires, yarns, etc. that you no longer need. So many possibilities.
· Use your computer to print out the labels, quotes, and shapes to decorate your layout.
· Check your supplies regularly to see what else you have. You may be surprised at how many you find out that you don't know what you are hiding.
· For particleboard decoration, use the back of the notepad or the part of the carton/box, cover it with patterned paper, cut out, and you have your particleboard decoration. You can also print large letters back on the pattern paper, then cover the particle board and cut it out with a craft knife.
· Use kitchen caddies instead of special scrapbook caddies. Believe me, it succeeded. You may also want to use a transparent organizer box, which you can find in your hardware or office supply store instead of buying an expensive "special" scrapbook organizer.
· Check the discount for the scrapbook item [obviously]. Check out Michael's or Joann's. They usually trade a lot on a regular basis. You can also check out the local office supply store. They may only have something you can use, it is usually cheaper than your local scrapbook store.
I hope this will help you to abandon the beautiful layout while trying to save money!
